When you are accepted into bgi的, you are assigned a counselor who will be available to you throughout the duration of your participation in the program. You are required to see your counselor three times a semester to ensure that you are receiving whatever help you may need to make progress toward your educational goals.
Counselors can assist you with:
- Academic, vocational, and personal counseling
- The financial aid process
- 类调度
- Petitions to the Academic Council
- A的请愿书.A./A.S. 学位
- Graduation applications
- Referrals to other student services and/or community agencies
- Other information vital to your success in college

Our Counselors Want you to Succeed!
Mayra first learned about bgi的 when she attended Yuba College. She was a first generation college student, 谁出身贫寒, immigrant family and because of her needs became part of bgi的. Her hard work earned her a place as an bgi的 Peer Counselor. During her attendance at Yuba College, she worked with other programs such as, 向上的束缚, Educational Talent 搜索 (ETS), and Student 支持 服务 (SSS). Mayra transferred to CSU, Sacramento and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a Master in Science in 咨询. She has been working as a Counselor since 2013. 多年来, she gained experience working with bgi的, 一般的咨询, and CalWORKs at Yuba College. In addition, she worked with the Transfer Center and General counseling here at E世博ESBALL. Mayra is very excited to work with our bgi的 student population, and looks forward to meeting you!
